Jane Baird's dance recital was a SUCCESS!!! I am so proud of her. She loved being out on stage. She did her dance and took a great big bow. She left the stage and then ran back out for a little more attention. I was watching from backstage so I didn't have the greatest view but I bought a video of the recital and cant wait for it to arrive!!!
After the recital we had planned to go to Jack's ballgame but it was chilly and the game was almost over so we decided to go ahead with my "couponing" trip that I had planned. I've been watching the extreme couponing show and I'm trying to learn to coupon. We just don't have a descent selection of stores in our town. Anyway I love Kroger and they were having a Mega Event. The closest store is in Hartselle and then a few miles down the road there is another one in Decatur. I bought enough stuff to fill up 2 shopping carts! My bill before coupons was $258 and after scanning my rewards card and coupons, my total was $141!!! That's the best I've done so far. It is well worth the hour drive and gas to save over $100! And in that haul, I got 15 boxes of pasta for free!!!
Tomorrow Jane Baird's class is taking a field trip to the zoo. The temperature will be in the 60's which is much better than 90's! I just hope it doesn't rain. Hopefully I will have some pics to post.
So I have to post about this sweet, adorable puppy that we rescued. We found a dog that had been displaced after the tornadoes. A co-worker convinced me to take him and Jack was wanting a dog so bad. My parents agreed (and were planning to get a dog for Jack anyway) so we brought her home (to Jack's home). Jane Baird LOVES this dog and the dog loves all the kids. Jack said "Meme, this dog is better than a girlfriend!" I told Jack that this dog used to belong to someone and they may be looking for it and we'd have to give it back to the owners if they wanted it back. It's hard not to get attached to a dog as sweet as that one!
Mother's Day was the best ever this year. For one reason, Alan was actually home. My first mother's day Alan was out of town and last year he was out of town and didn't get home until late in the evening. This year he was home and we celebrated all weekend. Saturday he and Jane Baird got me flowers and surprised me with a gift certificate for a day at the spa! On Sunday, Jane Baird and Daddy took me out for a really nice lunch and then some shopping. Jane Baird was extra sweet to me all weekend (except for when she slapped me across the face in the restaurant for not letting her shake salt out all over the table) and gave lots of hugs and kisses. I think she understand that it was Mommy's special day. Those two really know how to make a mommy feel special :)
