My Newest Obsession
I haven't posted anything in a while because I have been preoccupied with a new obsession--reading Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. Now I am not a reader at all. (I couldn't tell you the last book I read. Besides children's books which I read daily to my students) Not because I do not like to read, but because I am too picky and nothing suits me. My friends at school raved about the books and that's all I heard about for weeks. When I heard it was about vampires I was like NO WAY! I don't like all of that mess. They were finally able to convince me to read the 1st of the 4 books and they said I would be hooked and they were right. I carry my book everywhere with me and I read it every chance I get. I even have to fight the urge to pick it up during the school day when I am supposed to be teaching.
I am about half way through the 4th book and it is by far the best one!!! I swear I will probably never read another book again because I know that none will ever come close these books. I have even convinced Alan to read them. He just finished the first book and started the 2nd one tonight. He dosen't care for the love story part of it but likes the vampire stuff. I am just the opposite. I can't get enough of the lovey dovey stuff :)
Friday some of my friends and I are going to the movies to see Twilight the movie which is based on the first book. We are so excited to see it. We are all taking off around lunch time to catch the 1:30 show because we just can't wait until 7:00!

It's a ...
I went to the doctor for my big ultrasound today. My appointment was at 9:15 but we got there about 45 minutes early. I went to the lab to have my iron levels checked and my levels are back up to normal. However, I still have to continue taking the iron capsules everyday. Then Alan and I went in to have the ultrasound. The baby was moving all around (probably b/c I followed some advice from a friend and drank a Mountain Dew on the way to the doctor's office). We saw and heard a strong heartbeat and saw legs, spine, arms, the head, etc. And then she began looking for female or male parts. I started to get nervous and then she zoomed in and said there was not a penis. So I said "Is there any chance a penis will grow there?" and she said "No--it's definately a girl." I know that may have been a silly question on my part but I know of two incidences recently when someone thought they were having a girl and it turned out to be a boy. I just wanted to be sure. Alan has been making fun of me all day for asking that but I just wanted to be sure. We are so excited!!!
