Always got her tongue hanging out when she is doing something... This is her "guilty and caught in the act" look. She was disconnecting our printer from the computer! spitting... Enjoying one of her favorite snacks--Popsicles! She doesn't eat it, but rather sucks it until there is nothing left
Yesterday: Jane Baird pulled out Daddy's boxer shorts out of the laundry basket (they were clean and ready to be folded and put away...my least favorite chore) and tried to put them on. First she put them on her arm and wore them like a purse. Next she tried to wear them on her head. And finally she put them around her ankle. I asked her if she wanted Mommy's help and she brought them to me. I had to tuck them into her diaper to keep them up. I had forgotten to take them off before nap time. When Daddy got home from work he got her up from her nap and discovered she was wearing his underwear! I heard him laughing and then I remembered she was wearing them :)

Today was Jane Baird's post-op visit with Dr. Georgeson at Children's Hospital. I had been dreading this day for a while b/c she was having an esophagram, which means no food, no liquids, and lots of screaming. The test doesn't hurt, but she has to have her arms tied up above her head and her feet tied at her ankles; she is held down and force fed this horrible, thick chalky liquid (a.k.a barium). She usually screams for the entire duration of the test...not fun at all! Today was no different--she screamed and broke out into hives as usual (when she gets really upset and is having a screaming fit, she breaks out in hives). The espophagram looked great so I was happy about that. We did get some very sad news today though: Dr. Georgeson is moving to Washington to be closer to his children and grandkids. Everyone is so upset about it including Alan and myself. Dr. G is the chief surgeon at CHS and has been there for a long time. He is a wonderful, caring doctor and he saved our baby's life 3 times (and many, many others). Alan and I truly believe that if it weren't for his quick thinking on the morning of July 26, 2009, Jane Baird wouldn't be with us today. I was thankful for the opportunity to tell Dr. G today about how much we appreciated what he has done for us and how special he was to our family. I gave him a great big hug and we both got a little emotional. I am happy for him to have the opportunity to be with his family. His career has taken him away from his family a lot over the years and it is his time to go. His departure is an enormous loss for Children's Hospital :( Playing Peek-A-Boo! Where's Jane Baird??? Dr. G was holding Jane Baird and playing with her and she was having fun and in a great move. As soon as I grab my camera, she began fussing for me to hold her. These are the last two pictures of Jane Baird and Dr. Georgeson :(
Thank you, Dr. Goergeson!
After our clinic visit, we got to visit with some of the NICU nurses. I love seeing everyone. Even though it seems that we are always at CHS, I rarely get a chance to visit because Jane Baird is usually ill and hungry so we rush off to eat. After leaving the hospital, Jane Baird and I had lunch at Olive Garden and then a little shopping. She was so funny. She made a really funny, grand entrance into Hobby Lobby. The front was packed full of people waiting in line. She was riding in the back of the buggy (which I never let her do) and she was thinking that she was hot stuff. When we walked in and saw all of the people, Jane Baird thought they were all there for her and she let's out the biggest, loudest, and cutest laugh I've ever heard. She puts on a little show for all of the shoppers and they were all going on and on about how precious she was. Jane Baird was eating all of that attention up. Every time we passed a shopper from then on, she would let out a big laugh. She is full of personality. I just love her!!!

It's 2:45 am and I've just finished my 3rd outfit for Jane Baird. I hadn't planned on finishing the whole thing, but once I get started I can't stop! I have to be up early to take Jane Baird to her Dr. appointment at Children's Hospital in the morning...its just a checkup, but say a prayer for us that everything will be fine.

Happy 15 month bday to my sweet baby girl!

Today is Jane Baird's 15 month birthday (well technically it was yesterday, but it's almost 1:00am and I haven't been to bed yet). She is the sweetest little baby girl and has brought so much joy to our lives. I am so thankful that I was chosen to be her mommy! About Jane Baird at 15 months: I don't know how much she weighs right now (she will get weighed on Monday) but she's heavy! She always wants to be on my hip. She's in to everything! She loves music and LOVES to dance. I downloaded some of her favorite songs on my ipod the other day so she could dance to them...but she will dance to anything with a good beat...the other day she was dancing to the rhythm of the washing machine! Her dance moves are absolutely hilarious. When she dances, she appears to be seizing!!! A stranger might call for help if they were to see her dancing ;) Jane Baird gets up every morning around 8:00 am, has two naps during the day and then goes to bed at 8:00 pm. Her naps usually last between 2-3 hours (yes, I'm lucky!) She loves to watch the shows on Nick Jr. She doesn't actually sit and watch them, but she recognizes the songs and whenever Moose A. Moose comes on, she will stop what she's doing to watch. Her favorite shows are Wonder Pets, Yo Gabba Gabba, Dora, and most recently, she's really been in to Olivia. She was even singing the Olivia song today, which was so precious :) She also sings "Backpack, backpack" on Dora. Jane Baird loves animals. She has some of the Fur Real pets and a Nintendog and she loves them like they are her siblings. Her Nintendog "Lulu" (she named it...our dog is named Tallulah and we call her Lulu sometimes) sleeps with her. When she gets sleepy, she will call for "Lulu." When you ask her what a puppy dog says, she sticks her lips out as far as they will go and makes the funniest noise (cannot describe it!) Jane Baird talks and jibber jabbers all the time. She has lots of words in her vocabulary and knows a little bit of sign language. She will sign "more" when she wants a snack or if she is really hungry. Her daddy has been teaching her to say "Bama" and "Roll Tide!" and she's actually saying it clearly now. Jane Baird loves to climb. She likes to climb up, over, under, through...if it can be climbed on, she's right there! She is also very strong. She hates to lay down to have her diaper changed. She will escape before you can get the clean diaper on and then I have to chase her down. If I'm lucky, I can get her before she tee tees on the floor...there have been a few times that I wasn't so lucky. And lastly, she's not so much into fashion...I've tried and tried to get her to like cute clothes and hair bows, but she's just not in to it :( I'm determined to change that though :) There is lots more I could say about my sweet girl, but I'm off to bed...Jane Baird will be calling "Mama" in less than 7 hours!

I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday b/c they had a big sale on patterns. When I got there, I noticed that the fabric was 30% too! That was a sign that I needed to sew something else. Jane Baird wasn't really excited about me searching for patterns and shopping around for cute fabric. She wanted all of my attention on her, so I had to be quick! Anyway I found some cute fabric and a few patterns. After Jane Baird went to bed at 8:00, I started on my next project. I worked on it until 1:00 am and got up early this morning to finish it. I am so happy about this one! It was supposed to be a dress, but I think it will be cute as a top with leggings! I can't wait until Jane Baird wakes up from her nap to try it on!!!

I did it!

I was up until 1:00am trying to do ruffles...didn't go so well. This morning I called my mom to whine to her and she told me an easy way to do it and it worked! I'm so proud of myself. This is far from perfect, but I'll let her wear it out in public! I'm going to have it monogrammed or appliquéd and maybe add some bows.

This is the cake my hubby made me for my birthday. He had never baked anything before (besides a frozen pizza which doesn't really count as baking) and he made this for me completely from scratch. He also made 3 trips to Wal-Mart for ingredients he'd left off the list including a trip at 11:00 PM and again at 12:00 am! He is so good to me and I'm such a lucky girl! When he finished the cake, I asked him what he thought about the whole baking the cake experience. He said, "It wasn't to bad...but what I really don't get is the sifting of the flour." We played in her room today. She loves to sit in her drawers and in boxes Jane Baird is the queen of fake smiles! (I may have accidentally put some pics on here twice, but oh well!) Playing peek-a-boo with Mommy! She looks like such a big girl. I can't believe how fast she is growing. I tried her new outfit on her. The pants are not finished, but I needed to see if they were going to be big enough. She was so not into modeling at all. She was purposely not letting me take her pic Broccoli Girl! She had broccoli tonight for the 1st time and loved it. I had made a cheese sauce just in case she wouldn't eat it plain, but she gobbled it down so fast and then ate some of mine! Everyone in my family loves broccoli so I'm thrilled that we can agree on a vegetable! And lastly, these sweet smiles are for a special aunt who patiently waited for her turn to use the computer tonight...
