I hate it when I wake up before the alarm goes off!
It's 6:30 now, but I have actually been up since 5:00 with nothing to do... It would be a great time to update this blog if I had something to update! I guess I could give details about our evening visit last night. I got to the hospital at 5:30 (Alan was still in Jasper b/c he had to work). I got to feed Jane Baird her first bottle with rice cereal in it. She gets one tablespoon of rice cereal with each ounce of formula. It was so thick that Nurse Loretta had to cut a larger hole in the nipple of the bottle. Jane Baird sucked it down and of course wanted more (she only got one ounce). She had so wait 3 more hours before getting another ounce. JB and I hung out until daddy arrived at 7:30. JB was happy to see him of course. She got her 2nd bottle at 8:30 and fussed again when it was all gone. I put her thumb in her mouth and she sucked on it so hard. JB acted like she was tired so we put her back in her bed. After a few minutes she had all of this energy!!! We were watching a Barney sing-a-long video and she started kicking her legs like a crazy woman. I think she was trying to dance. It was so funny! She has a new iv in her foot and Nurse Loretta had to put tons and tons of tape on it to protect it from all of the kicking. Then we had to put socks on her with another id bracelet on top to give it extra protection. (That was her second iv yesterday and we didn't want to have to go for a 3rd.) When her PICC line went bad, she had to have an iv in her hand. It was the same hand of the thumb that she sucks and she was so mad when she wasn't able to suck her favorite thumb anymore. She tried and tried causing the iv to go bad. That's why she had to have another. I'm so thankful that the iv nurse was able to find a good vein in her foot. She almost had to get an iv in her forehead!
