My new hobby!

So I was window shopping online at one of my favorite online stores (www.shopthatstore.com) and its very pricey (that's why I was only window shopping). Anyway I wanted to check out the clothes to see what will be "in" for this fall. All of the outfits that I liked were $80 so I decided that I was going to learn to sew. I went to a local fabric store and bought a pattern, fabric, thread, etc. I couldn't wait for nap time so I could get started! After another trip out (to Wal-Mart this time) and a trip to my parents house for a little bit of help, this is what I made... And I must say that I did a really good job on it b/c my mistakes are hardly noticeable at all :) I am so proud! I finished it at 1:00 am and wanted so badly to try in on Jane Baird, but of course she was sound asleep...never a chance of her waking in the middle of the night. When she woke up at 8 this morning, I put it on her and it fit! My next project is pants to match... they will be black with a ruffle to match the top. I think I'm going to attempt to make some black bloomers too. Since I don't have a pattern for pants yet, I decided to take apart a pair of her pants and use them for a pattern. They were her pajama pants but they had such a cute fit... I had planned on putting them back together after using them for a pattern, but I think I'll just buy her some more!
