Mother's Day

Mother's Day weekend was a lot of fun (except for Daddy being in Missouri) for Jane Baird and me. We went to the zoo with Jane Baird's preschool class on Friday. On Saturday we enjoyed a beautiful day at Art in the Park. On Sunday we spent the entire day just hanging out. Our day began at 6:30 with a trip to the Sumiton Wal-Mart. Alan usually does all of our grocery shopping (yes, I'm a lucky girl!) on Sundays, but since he was about 12 hours away, I thought I would help him out. After Wal-Mart, Jane Baird went down for a nap while I put groceries away. After Jane Baird's nap, we went to my parent's house to wish Grandma a happy mother's day. After Grandma's house, Jane Baird and I went to the park to feed the ducks. There were 2 kids on the entire playground (it's normally full of children) so after feeding the ducks, we stopped for a few minutes so Jane Baird could swing. She loved it! Daddy finally made it home around 6:00. We ordered Chinese take out and spent a nice evening at home. Jane Baird gave me the most precious gift. She made me an adorable card at preschool. She handed it to me and I could tell that she was so proud of her work. I am going to save it forever! Jane Baird holding the bread that she was supposed to throw to the ducks. She kept licking it :) Chilling in the swing. She looks bored, but I promise she liked it. Handing me the card she made for me This is the first thing Jane Baird has ever made for me. I will cherish this card forever! I got one more special mother's day present that I'll share on the blog later...
