The morning after...

Well, Jane Baird ended up waking up around midnight last night so I gave her a bottle of milk and put her back to bed. I wasn't sure if she would stay, but she did. I was hoping she wouldn't wake up at 4:30 this morning like she did the morning before. Lucky for me, she slept until 6:30 which is the time she usually gets up to get ready for school. My sweet little baby woke up with a smile on her face as if she hadn't seen me in a while. I got her up and gave her a bottle which the drank without taking a breath! I took the day off work today to be with her while she recovers, so we didn't have to rush to get ready for school. We played for a while and then she got a much needed bath! We usually do bath time before bed each night, but blood in the hair isn't really a good look for her. After her bath she was ready for her morning nap. I put her down a few minutes ago and I can hear her playing in her bed as I type. I know she is exhausted so I'm not going to bother her. Today I'm supposed to keep a close eye on her to make sure that her breathing is ok. She has been wheezing a little, but its not bad enough for me to worry. She has also developed a cough which is normal after this procedure. Hopefully she will make a speedy recovery and its looking like she will. I'm cleaning off my memory card so I thought I would post these pics from a few days ago... My little helper. Her favorite thing to do in the kitchen is to sit on the dishwasher door. I'm not sure how much weight it will hold but apparently it will hold at least 22 lbs. A few weeks ago we posted a pic of a bird's nest with eggs. Well, the eggs have hatched and now we have baby birds. They are not as cute as I thought they would be though. I guess I was expecting them to be as cute as baby chicks. Anyway I was feeling honored that Mama bird felt that our home was a safe place to raise her babies. Everyone kept telling me to knock the nest down (before the babies hatched) but I was like "no way!" I was kind of wondering why a bird's nest was such bad thing... well I know know! Our driveway is COVERED in bird poop. It's gross!!!
